The villa, located along the main street of the village, is an elegant building dating back to the fifteenth century. There are no known documents proving the date of construction. The elegant living accommodation was on the first floor while on the ground-basement level are rooms once used to store agricultural goods and equipment. Upto the 1960s the villa was owned by Count Martini di Cigala, owner of many properties in the area and in Chianti. The loggia overlooking the street is a more recent addition, dating probably from the early nineteenth century, and narrowing the street at the point of construction. The villa is currently a private home.
