TEATRO DI VERZURA

The open-air theatre of Verzura is a part of the Marselli Gardens. The ‘verzura’ was a feature of grand Italian gardens of the 19th century. The entrance from Via Coppoli has an iron gate with two panels of ceramic tiles on each side, with scenes of local landscapes, designed by the local artist who is the current owner of this part of the gardens. The gate leads to a series of steps cut into the earth which lead down to the stage area below.
